Their exceptional sense of smell allows them to detect your presence from afar, which is why they often raise their heads even before you arrive.
Their hearing is so keen that they can perceive the crackle of a branch or footsteps from nearly 100 meters away.
Calm gestures and a soft voice encourage closeness with the deer. Take the opportunity to offer them feed or a gentle stroke.
